The S-Zero's biggest advantage isn't speed or range — it's that qualifying ultralight flight works completely differently from traditional aviation.
No. The S-Zero is designed to qualify as an ultralight vehicle under FAA Part 103 — no pilot's license, no airman certificate, and no flight hours are required to operate it.
Yes. Qualifying ultralight vehicles are flown every day in the U.S. under FAA Part 103, a set of rules written specifically for single-occupant recreational aircraft.
No. Part 103 ultralights do not require FAA registration or an N-number, and there is no annual inspection requirement like certified aircraft.
No medical certificate of any kind is required to fly under Part 103.
Part 103 lets you fly in uncontrolled airspace away from congested areas, open-air assemblies of people, and controlled airspace (unless you have prior authorization). Rural property — like most of Illinois — is ideal.
Part 103 operations are limited to daylight hours. Flight during twilight periods is allowed with an operating anti-collision light visible for at least 3 statute miles.
No. Part 103 ultralights are single-occupant aircraft. Every S-Zero is a one-seat machine — that's part of what keeps it license-free.
Yes. The S-Zero Plus, Lite, and Max carry pilots up to 120 kg (264 lb); the base S-Zero carries up to 90 kg (198 lb). A lighter pilot also means longer flight time.
Your S-Zero is simple and super easy to fly with its AI-assisted flight-control software — but please wait for your factory test pilot. Every purchase includes pre-flight, hands-on flight training, and post-flight training, at your location and on your own aircraft. When they leave, your S-Zero has been checked, inspected, and is ready for hours and hours of safe, exciting flight.
